Going Green: Getting Sexually Inspired by Nature

By Emmeline Peaches, 13.04.2020

Ah, the great outdoors. Isn’t it just lovely? So lovely, in fact, that it’s almost romp-worthy.

We say “almost” but the reality is that nature is absolutely inspirational for sex. According to studies of millenials, 51% have had sex outdoors, showing just how appealing going green can be…

The Appeal
But what is the appeal of having sex outside? There are likely multiple factors.
For many young millennials it’s partially a case of practicality.
Many teens who are sexually active still live with their caregivers or guardians, which doesn’t leave much leeway for healthy sexual exploration.

Having sex outside, on the other hand, ironically offers more privacy, as there’s less chance of having people barge in on you or being heard.
Still, there’s an inherent thrill to being exposed in nature, to some degree.

All it takes is one stray dog or passing stroller to up the thrill of an outside excursion and really get the adrenaline flowing. This triggers all sorts of reactions in the body – heart racing, elevated pulse, increased awareness- which we’re hard wired to find desirable in a sexual setting.
Then, of course, there’s the inherent benefit of nature.

Green Wellbeing
Here’s a tip for you: If ever you’re feeling distressed or overwhelmed go for a walk out in a local park or green area.
The University of Michigan did a study that found that walking in nature can increase perceived wellbeing, decrease symptoms of depression and stress, and boost mood.
The results of this were shown to be even more powerful for those who had recently suffered a trauma, meaning that time in a natural setting can be a powerful healing tool.

Legalities
But, let’s be law-conscious here: It’s not always technically legal to have sex in nature.
This is a bit absurd, we know; humans are animals like any other and every other animal gets to enjoy the great outdoors, so why can’t we?

Alas, public decency exists and you’ll want to look in to your local laws and think long and hard before deciding to dive in to a random Bush with your romantic interest.

If, however, you do consider sex outdoors we recommend you consider a secluded, safe area to enjoy yourselves.
Alternatively, here are some of the best ways to get that sexual boost from nature while still also remaining trouble-free…

#1 Go For A Hike
Who says that you need to have sex in nature to be inspired by nature?
Go for a hike with your partner/s in some stunning local areas and then return home to cosy up and get close.
Not only will you still reap the mood enhancing benefits of sex but you’ll also feel invigorated from the activity and ready to release any leftover energy before settling in. It’s a great combination.

#2 Rent A Cabin
If you fancy your own woodland romp then consider having your next holiday in a woodland cabin or country home where you have access to some private land.
This ticks the boxes of being solitary and safe while also still allowing you the freedom to be outdoors.
Or, pick the more budget-friendly option…

#3 Camp
Whether it’s in a tented area or wild, camping allows you a lot more freedom to roam in nature and cum-and-go as you please.
If you find a nice area you can test the grounds, as it were, before deciding to settle in for more or moving on. And, hey, if you exhaust yourselves you’ve got a portable resting space to hand.

#4 Get A Room With a View
If you feel inspired by nature but don’t like the idea of actually being out in it then there’s always the option of a good view.
Locate a space with a nice (private) balcony area and sample the sights of nature from the comfort of your own home.
Which brings us to our final suggestion…

#5 Bring Nature to You
Perhaps you have a garden? Perhaps you don’t. Either way, there are always chances to insert a little green in to your sexual settings to make it more nature-inspiring.
Some studies have shown that just looking at nature can give you a mood boost (and improved mood means improved sex) so sometimes just putting a pretty nature image or video on the big screen can be enough.
Of course, it’s no substitute for the real thing but we work with what we have.

Whatever your way to reconnect with nature please do be aware of other people around you and things such as ticks, dirt, etc. that might be a health risk. Other than that, feel free to enjoy these tips to make the great outdoors yours.
