Vabbing: why women use their own vaginal fluids as perfume

By Janna, 12.10.2026

The world of dating trends is always moving and the latest craze has caused quite a stir: vabbing. A combination of ‘vaginal’ and ‘dabbing’. The idea is simple yet effective: women use their own vaginal fluids like a natural perfume by dabbing it onto their wrists and neck. But where does it come from and does it really work?

What exactly is vabbing?

Vabbing revolves around the idea of using your own pheromones to attract potential partners. Pheromones are chemical substances secreted by animals (including humans) to transmit information, like sexual availability. By dabbing a little of your own fluids onto your pulse points, you supposedly amplify these signals. You apply it on the same areas you would normally spray your perfume on: your neck, behind your ears and on your wrists.

Who’s doing this and where does it come from?

The trend recently exploded on platforms such as TikTok where influencers swear by the results, claiming that after a ‘vabbing’ night they get approached more in the bar or that their dates become physical much faster.

Although it’s currently a hype, the concept is not new. In biology, the appeal of scent has been a hot topic for decades and renowned sexologist Alice Kahn Ladas already wrote about it in the 1970s. It’s actually an ancient method put back into the spotlight by modern technology.

Does it really work, or is it all in your head?

Scientifically speaking, the jury is still out. Although pheromones play a huge role in the animal kingdom, their influence on human partner selection is more complex. After all, we are also guided by appearance, voice, and personality. Yet, there is a major psychological factor at play here: the placebo effect. Women who try vabbing often feel more confident and sexy. Radiating that kind of energy, automatically attracts more attention. Whether it’s the scent or your own attitude, the bottom-line result remains the same.

The natural boost

The beauty of vabbing is that it’s completely natural. You use your own unique signature to let the outside world know that you’re there. It fits into the broader trend of increasingly looking for ways to reconnect with our own biology and sexuality.
