10 essential tips for good sex in your car

By Janna, 04.06.2026

Imagine returning from a date or fun party and tension is building. You have wild plans, but waiting until you finally reach the comfort of your bed takes too long. In that situation, most people do have their own car at their disposal. Admittedly, an average car might not be the most ideal place in terms of freedom of movement. You have to be a little creative with the limited space and inconvenient obstacles, like the handbrake. To prevent your spontaneous action from ending in an awkward struggle, it’s certainly useful to be a little strategic. With these ten tips, you can make things a lot smoother and sexier.

1. Location is everything
Look for a remote and quiet parking lot. A dark forest or a quiet industrial estate works considerably better than your neighbours’ driveway or the bright parking lot of the local supermarket.

2. Create space
Are you staying in the front? Then slide the chairs back as far as possible and lower the back rests. Are you moving to the back seat? Then do the exact opposite and slide the front seats as far forward as possible. It requires a little improv, but every extra inch of breathing space is a bonus before getting started.

3. The best positions for in the car

In the front, cowgirl or reserve cowgirl are perfect, with one sitting in the chair and the other on their lap. Do you want to move to the back seat? You have a little more space to stretch out there and spooning is great. Would you rather try missionary? Then place your legs at a steeper level or simply place one foot firmly on the floor for just that extra space and balance.

4.Turn off the engine

Nobody needs a roaring exhaust pipe that keeps the whole neighborhood awake. And with the current petrol prices, running the engine is simply unaffordable. So just turn off the ignition. Also a way to save some money for your next date.

5. Protect the upholstery
Place a towel or an extra shirt on the seat, to prevent you from having to get to work with a scouring pad and soap the next morning. And cold leather feels terribly sticky to your bare butt.

6.Turn off the light

That small light above the rearview mirror turns your car into a lit shop window as soon as you open the door, so make sure everything is completely dark.

7. Warming up in the tailgate

Do you have a spacious station wagon or SUV and is the action premediated? Then you can make it a full-fledged date. Bring something to drink and a snack, throw open the tailgate and get cozy together in the back. It’s the perfect and sultry outdoor warm-up, before seeking the warmth of the car inside and closing the doors for good.

8. Watch out for the seatbelt buckle

As soon as it’s dark and you are in action, the hard seatbelt buckle is your worst enemy. Nothing kills your mood faster than accidentally seating your bare ass on metal. So make sure to cover it with a sweater or scarf before you start.

9. Turn on the radio and close the windows

A sultry playlist is the perfect acoustic smokescreen. The rumble of the bass easily drowns out the creaking of the suspension. Close your windows, as sounds carry far in the silence of the night. Has your battery seen better days or are you going for a long hot session? Then be careful that the radio doesn’t completely drain your battery. You really don’t want to have to call for roadside assistance with fogged-up windows because you can’t get back on the road.

10. Put together a survival kit

A pack of wet wipes in your clove compartment is always handy anyway. You never know when you might spill a drink or get your hands dirty on the road. But after a hot session in the car, wipes are essential. Nothing more annoying than finding your underwear in the dark and having to start the drive home feeling all sticky.

Sexy time on four wheels requires creativity and a good dose of acrobatics. It’ll never be as comfy as your own spacious bed of course, but it does score maximum points for thrills and excitement. Have fun and drive safely!
