2025 lingerie trends: seduction, comfort and expression

By Janna, 20.10.2025

Lingerie in 2025 is more than an instrument for seduction. It’s a form of self-expression, a sensory experience and play between visible and invisible. It’s not just about what is beautiful in the eye the beholder anymore, but also about what feels right for you. The lines between underwear, outerwear and sex toys are blurring — which is also visible in the trends. Comfort and kink go hand in hand, softness is just as sexy as strapping, and what you wear, says more and more about how you want to experience your body. Below, a look at the fabrics, colors and shapes that are conquering the bedroom (and beyond) this year.

Fabrics you want to keep touching
Soft, stretchy and above all: tactile. In 2025 lingerie is about fabric you literally want to keep feeling. Satin, velvet, brushed lace and mesh are not only esthetically pleasing, but also invite you to touch them. Innovation also plays a role: breathable materials, smart fibers and transparent mesh fabrics that fluently move with your body — not against your skin, but with your skin. Think less underwire, more freedom of movement. Lingerie should feel like a second skin, that arouses at the same time.

Coloring outside the lines
Black is still a classic, but in 2025 other colors are gaining ground. Think of warm earth tones like cocoa and terracotta, dreamy pastels in lilac and peach, or bold neon accents for those who dare. Petrol, ice blue and deep green are everywhere too. There is room for both softness and boldness. Your lingerie doesn’t have to scream to be sexy, but it can whisper with color.

Cut and style: from harness to camisole
Harnesses, strappy details and open cups have become mainstream now. Lingerie is inspired more and more by bondage esthetics, but in an accessible way. At the same time, there’s a return to comfort: bralettes, high-waist briefs and soft wireless bras. What you wear isn’t either kinky or cozy — it can be both. Many styles now combine a tame front with an outspoken back, or vice versa. You determine which part you reveal.

Lingerie deserves to be seen
A lace bra under an open blouse. A sheer body worn as a top. In 2025 lingerie is no longer strictly private, but can flirt with your everyday outfit. Transparency and layers create tension without immediately revealing everything. Gender-fluid designs are also gaining ground: briefs, tops and bodies that don’t stick to traditional shapes or roles. Lingerie is becoming less and less ‘feminine’ or ‘masculine’, but above all: seductively human.

And in bed?
The trend is clear: lingerie isn’t a supporting act anymore, but part of the main act. You don’t wear it for effect, but because it turns you on. Lingerie helps your body to feel and move differently, and sometimes also to become more dominant, playful, sensual. And yes, it can also just be comfortable when you’re on top.
