How to Start Pegging – Part 2

More on the erotic game of using a strap on.

This is a continuation of “How to Start Pegging – Part 1

Part 1 was all about getting used to anal stimulation and bringing up the actual topic of pegging. If your partner agrees to try it out, there are a few more steps you should go through.

5. Go Shopping!
Once your partner has agreed to try pegging, or if they are opening up to the idea for the future, then it is a good time to start shopping! This isn’t a pressure tactic! The items that you purchase will be useful in preparing for eventual pegging too.

There are three things that you will need to purchase: a harness, a dildo and lubricant. You can shop online or in store for these items. Several companies have “beginner” kits that include basic harnesses and skinny dildos. Harnesses can be really expensive, so buying a beginner kit is a budget-conscious way to try out pegging. If it is something that you both enjoy, you can then upgrade to better quality items.

It is important that you are both involved in the shopping experience. Shopping for a harness together can add to the anticipation and excitement. Your partner can get used to visualizing you in a harness and it can help reduce some anxiety about it. Even if your partner doesn’t care about selecting a harness together, they should absolutely decide on the strap-on. You want them to feel as comfortable as possible, so it is a great idea for them to choose their own. Make sure it is made from a safe material (like silicone).

6. Try Your New Items: You
Similar to what was mentioned in part 1, you should try out the new purchases on yourself. Using the dildo on yourself is a great way to become familiar with how it feels. Once it is in the harness, you won’t really be able to feel it, so it is important to understand its size and curves beforehand. You can also have your partner use it on you so that you can share in the experience.

Of course, always clean and sterilize the toy before using it on your partner. Toys made from body-safe non-porous materials are capable of being sterilized. For extra protection, you can use a condom on the toy (again, as long as the toy is made from a safe material).

7. Try Your New Items: Them
Before pegging, your partner should play around with the new dildo without the harness. They can definitely use it by themself, but more importantly you should be using it on them. Holding it in your hand will allow for more control than when it is in a harness. This will help both of you learn what feels good, which includes amount of lubricant, deepness and speed of thrusts. What you learn from this will really help you once it is in the harness.

8. Don’t Rush
Just because you bought everything, doesn’t mean you need to rush into pegging. It is perfectly okay for your partner to change their mind or them to need more time before trying out a new sex act. It’s also okay for you to change your mind if you’re having doubts about it. It is totally okay if the harness and strap sit in your drawer for ages before ever being used. The important part is for everyone to be comfortable.

9. First Time
The first time you try pegging will most likely not be the greatest time ever. If you’ve never pegged someone before, it might take you some time to get used to the proper technique and rhythm. “Giving” is surprisingly different than “receiving.” Your partner should communicate throughout the entire process to make sure you aren’t going too deep or too fast – make sure to listen to them. If something isn’t working, change it. You can also try out different positions to find the one that works for you. Use the first few experiences as a learning process!

Once you’ve done it for the first time, it can only get better. Like they say: practice makes perfect!

If you want to explore pegging, this is a starting guide. Make sure to read up as much as possible before trying it out. The more you know, the better it will be! Let us know if you have any tips!
