How to boost your sex life this summer

By Janna, 14.08.2025

The days are longer, life takes on a slower pace and you finally have space to let go of all the ‘must-dos’. No full schedule, no getting the kids off to school in time, no work emails till late. But: sultry nights, bare legs, lazy afternoons and just a little more lust for each other. Those free days are the perfect time to give your sex life a gentle reset.

1. Away with the duvet, hello skin

Summer means less layers. Literally. Throw that duvet off the bed, replace it with a sheet and discover what skin on skin does to you. The heat makes you lie closer together, move more slowly and sweat more. And yes, that can be very arousing.

2. Change your pace (and timing)

Your rhythm changes in the summer. You sleep differently, you eat later, you probably have more free time. Make use of that. Not everything has to take place in bed at night. Try it in the morning, afternoon, shaded spots. Or have sex after a warm shower with wet hair and open windows. Summer is the season for the unexpected.

3. Use your senses — all five of them

Senses are essential for arousal. So use them. Mint on your tongue. Slowly rubbing each other’s back with sunscreen. The scent of skin with a hint of sweat. Sliding an ice cube on bare skin. Playing with temperature, textures, flavors and sounds.

4. Flirting without a plan

Summer energy calls for spontaneity. Flirting in the middle of the day. Sending a message with a suggestive “tonight?”. Caressing each other on the way to an outdoor cafe. Sex doesn’t just start in bed, but with the build-up. A glance. A touch. A naughty idea that lingers till the dark.

5. Put it off

Are you planning a vacation? Play a sexy game by putting off sex. “We don’t do anything until the holidays” only touching, teasing, caressing. No sex for the first few days, only seduction. Just building up tension without release. And when you finally do it? Fireworks!

6. Do less, feel more

Summer heat invites you to slow down. And that’s no downside, it’s gold. Sex doesn’t have to take long, but it can feel long. A three-minute kiss. An unhurried touch. Less focus on technique, more on connection. Think: siesta-style sex. Lazy. Languid. And fucking good.

Summer is the season to boost your sex life

Maybe you haven’t really found the time for sex lately. Busy, tired, distracted — we’ve all been there. But the summer? Invites you to start anew. You have more time, more light, less obligations. It’s the perfect season to get back into your body, reconnect and bring pleasure back into bed (or wherever you want it).
